Slàinte (SLAHN-chə) Farm cultivates the land to provide food for our Northern Colorado community. Slàinte is a toast that means “to your health” in Gaelic. This is exactly what we wish to do by growing vegetables, flowers and herbs using organic practices that are good for the health of the environment, animals and the community. We focus on heirloom vegetables, culinary and medicinal herbs as well as edible flowers. We are GMO free, we don’t use synthetic pesticides or fertilizers and even though we are not certified organic we are currently working on acquiring the certification and hope to have it by next season.
See our CSA Breakdown for a full list of what we are growing this year.
Meet the farmers
Ann has a passion for good food. She has worked in the food and wine industry and wants to expand on what we consider food. She started Handful of Herbs several years ago to grow and sell edible flowers and herbs. A continual student of Herbalism and plants she is excited to add vegetables to the mix in the production garden. But, fair warning, she will sneak in some burdock root into the vegetable shares.
Josh owns Carnes Construction and Handyman Services. He is a plant lover and a jack of all trades. He does whatever needs to be done. His passion is in natural building so look for information on building with straw bale and other fun alternatives to conventional building.

What does it contain?
The seasonal box will contain a mix of vegetables with an average value of $25 about 2- 3 grocery bags full. Keep in mind the vegetables will be based on what’s able to grow at that time of the season. Early shares (which maybe lighter) will be greens, radish, and herbs. In the heat of the summer is when you will get the tomatoes, egg plants, cucumbers etc. and your box will be fuller (and worth more than the $25 value given to it).
For recipe ideas using the vegetables in the shares each week check out the recipe blog.
This is our first season. Join us and help us grow for you. Getting in on the ground level means you will have more of a say in what we can provide for you. Events happen that are out of our control such as hail, pests and when produce ripens. We will do our best to provide you with everything on the list but if Mother Nature has a different plan it can be hard to argue. Click here to read the membership agreement which will provide more information about what is expected from us and our members.
Cost- $500 (+ 2.225% for sales tax)
This breaks down to $25 a week for local, unique, organically grown produce.
